Pasos for Oak Cliff, a non-profit, is set up by Jesse Acosta, a high school teacher, and Alejandra Zendejas, a math tutor. We both consider ourselves sneakerheads.
As sneakerhead educators and members of the community, we are fully aware that parents and guardians struggle to supply some basic necessities for their children - this is especially true when it comes to shoes.
As a result, we decided to turn our LOVE for sneakers into a proactive start up - Pasos for Oak Cliff. The goal of Pasos for Oak Cliff is to give students new shoes. The lack of good quality shoes leads to discomfort, ridicule, bullying, and isolation. We can prevent that from happening, but we cannot do it alone, we need YOUR SUPPORT.
SNEAKERS ARE AN OPPORTUNITY
At Pasos, new stylish sneakers are an opportunity to increase confidence and academic achievement. Children with worn-out shoes are more likely to experience bullying, isolation, and low morale. Our shoe drives intentionally target children from families experiencing temporary financial hardships or that are unhoused.

Our sneakers are more than just a pair a shoes. We curate every pair of shoes we give out to make sure they are comfortable and most importantly, stylish. This is crucial to us as sneakerheads.

HOW IT WORKS
Nuestro forma de recomendación para el verano ha CERRADO.
Ahora estamos tomando las recomendaciones de los estudiantes para nuestra Entrega de Zapatos este invierno.
Piense en una ocasión en que recibió un nuevo par de zapatos. ¿Cómo te sentiste? Muchos niños pierden ese sentimiento porque su guardian puede estar pasando apuros o, seamos honestos, los zapatos no son lo más importante a veces.

Les pedimos a los MAESTROS, MIEMBROS DE LA FAMILIA, MIEMBROS DE LA COMUNIDAD y PADRES que RECOMIENDEN a un ESTUDIANTE que podría usar un nuevo par de zapatos. Los padres pueden recomendar a su propio hijo. Los requisitos son los siguientes:

Los estudiantes viven en Oak Cliff, Dallas, o las ciudades circunvecinas (los estudiantes de Oak Cliff tendrán prioridad)

El estudiante proviene de un entorno de bajos ingresos

Los guardianes se han visto afectados económicamente por COVID-19.

Se requiere comprobante de ingresos (si no está disponible, contactaremos a la familia)
Complete el formulario de recomendación a continuación. LOS ESTUDIANTES QUE VIVEN EN EL ÁREA DE OAK CLIFF TENDRÁN PRIORIDAD.
NOTA: Si desea recomendar a más de un estudiante, deberá completar un formulario nuevo para cada estudiante. Solo se garantizan 2 PARES DE ZAPATOS por familia. Si podemos proporcionar más de dos pares, lo haremos.
